Do you ever wonder what a certain plant or animal is? I do all the time, which inspired me to create Biota, a wildlife identifier using image recognition. I love nature and being outdoors, and I believe there is a large disconnect between the physical and digital worlds. Biota is my attempt to help inspire people to reconnect with nature and the physical world around them.

To inspire people to get outside and appreciate the physical world more I decided to keep the UI minimal so that the focus stays on the wildlife and world at hand and not on the app itself. I chose to make the UI elements transparent so that even while looking at them you can see the environment through them.
